It's an indisputable fact that all the MC's out there need hot beats, moreover, lots of them are looking for free beats.
Ok, if you're a beginner, the free beat is what you need to spit some lyrics on it and develop your skill. But. Once you feel that you're ready for a big game, it is the right time for you to invest in yourself.
I've seen a lot of rappers with years of experience still looking for free production, still stealing beats off producers' websites, soundclick, MySpace pages and where are they? Almost the same place where they started. Still broke, still no money and no real fans, still spamming their MySpace friend list, like "We've got a revolutionary hot album out. Download it for free. Here's the link...", and so on, and so forth... Well, they will download the album and listen to it, but what's next? In most cases - nothing. Again, still broke and still ain't get paid.
It's time to change the game, my friend!
You're making those hot hits and the only step to succeed is to stop doing what you're doing now. You'll ask me, "But what should I do???"
Ok, the first step is to set an aim. If you don't see where to move and what you want to get, you won't move. Set a clear aim and do everything possible to reach it!
Believe in yourself. Of course, there will be lots and lots of obstacles on your way to success. They are and always will be just to make you stronger and ready to get what you were dreaming about. You've got an aim, you've already got everything to reach it, then don't waste your time on useless things, get what you want and believe in your success!
Understand your value. It's up to you to choose, whether you are a "free download artist", or an artist selling albums and building your own future. An artist who is selling albums definitely understands his/her value, and can easily differentiate between free tracks recorded over free beats and tracks that have been invested into. I'm talking about studio time, professionally made and mixed (!) beats, marketing etc.
In coming articles I will show You how to stop being broke and live off your music. No matter what style you're representing. Even people making seemingly unprofitable old school hip-hop can easily become rich. There is and will always be an audience for any style, and thus the market for you to do your business.
Believe in yourself, invest in yourself, understand your value, and nobody will stop you on your way to success!
